Happy April friends! Every spring I find myself craving a little home refresh. This happens in the form of both spring decluttering and spring shopping (re-cluttering?). If I am totally honest, I am way better at spring shopping than I am at the decluttering side of things (I rely heavily on Ryan for the decluttering/organization of things!) I don't think a spring refresh needs to be anything big, sometimes just a little something new, like a pretty spring mug for your morning coffee, can add a little splash of delight to you day. Below is a list of things (big and small) in my favorite fresh spring colors that can help turn everyday a bit extraordinary.
For some reason updating just small everyday things can makes such a big impact... and (due to a few accidents) we need new cups! I love the look and feel of fancy drinkware but with three kids, and the inevitable spills that come with them (see above accidents ;), fine glassware is just not workable for this season of life. Enter Juliska’s outdoor drinkware…that we use indoors and every day! It has the look and feel of Juliska’s signature elevated yet simple style while being unbreakable and dishwasher safe. Win-Win!
New Slipcovers for our Dining Chairs:
I love the look of upholstered furniture in fun prints and fresh colors. I think it really adds a touch of fun and whimsy to an everyday space. But as mentioned above, we have to deal with the inevitable spills (do you see a theme here?), crayons, and crumbs that come from busy family life. My solution - slipcovers in performance fabric! I love our current Ballard slipcovered dining chairs, they add such a fun pop to our most used space in the house. As these chairs are a staple style for Ballard they keep rolling out new colors and fabrications. I’m hoping to get a new set of covers for our chairs this spring that I can swap in for both a fun change to our kitchen/dining area and to use when the other set is inevitably being professionally cleaned! I love this blue and white striped print!
Can’t help myself…a new Chappy
My love of blue and white home decor runs deep, but I love this shade of green in the new ChappyWrap collection. I don’t think you can have too many comfy, cozy blankets especially when they are as cute (and easily washable) as the Chappy Wrap blankets.
New shoes that will go with everything this spring:
Spring refresh definitely applies to the wardrobe too! My new Duffield Lane dresses would look so lovely with some new shoes ;) I love everything about these raffia ballet flats from Loeffler Randall. I have a pair of these same flats in Black that are so comfortable and were a staple of mine this fall. I can’t wait to try this new color with my new spring dresses.
PSA: if you want a water bottle for your kids that will not leak in your purse buy this one!
After many leaking water bottle incidents, I have wholeheartedly committed to these Yeti water bottles for my kids. They take them every day to school, whenever we travel, and anytime I need to carry them in my bag. After 2+ years they are holding up great! I love the new limited edition Power Pink color so it might be time to add another set to our cupboard just in time for spring sports and summer camps season.
Spring Active Everett quarter Zip
With April comes spring sports seasons, while I may not be partaking in the soccer game I will be running to games and practices, lugging the family wagon full of water, snacks, and camp chairs–so I am really excited to try out our new Spring Active collection. I absolutely love the feel of the performance pique and rely on the UPF 50+ protection it gives. I can’t wait to try this quarter zip in our classic navy colorway.
Full disclosure - I have not gotten my husband on board with this one but… I LOVE this seersucker bedspread. Maybe this is the spring he will crack and we can add this beauty to our bedroom.
There is something so classic about Gingham in the spring! We have so many great gingham styles this season to choose from in such great colorways, that it is really hard to pick a favorite! Although if I have to choose this navy and white number is will certainly find its way into my closet.
I think my morning coffee (or three) would just taste better in this adorable mug. Just a little luxury to brighten an everyday morning.
Little Amazon Finds: Pillow Covers & Bin
The smallest pieces can give the biggest spring refresh! My latest finds are these sage scallop pillow covers and a new floral trashcan for the guest bath!
Fresh florals
There's nothing like fresh blooms to brighten up your home. My favorites for spring are hyacinths and lilacs!
